Easy walk with a short climb to St Catherine's Chapel, which is based on a small hill. At the top, it offers a nice 360° viewpoint.
Calculated time is computed with the distance, the height difference, and an average speed of 2.2 mph. For an intermediate walker, this time includes small breaks.
The car park is at the end of Buller's Way.
(D/A) Start following the Macmillan Way along the car park.
(1) Look for a fence on the right-hand side and pass over it. Keep going straight after passing the gate.
(2) Turn left at the engraved rock.
(3) Follow the path going slightly right. Walk straight until you reach the Macmillan Way and take a sharp left.
(4) From the Chapel, go back to the gate you have passed earlier. There is not really a well-maintained path to follow so feel free to go down the way you like as long as you reach the gate. From the gate, return to the car park by using the same way you came from.
