Hello fellow walkers,

I'm looking for suggestions on the best village to stay in the Lakedistrict for a group of walkers who've never been to the region before? Looking to do walks in different mountains and landscapes each day, but based in the same village all week.

Thanks

Sarita

Glenridding or Patterdale in Ullswater for sure.

Try Grizedale Forrest area - they have lots of walks and the art sculptures are amazing.

Hi Sarita

Base yourself in Langdale or the bottom part of Borrowdale. From each there is a great selection of walks including the highest peak in the region. An alternative is the upper part of the Duddon Valley, more remote...less busy and stunning. Great walking too.

I know you have moderated some of my walks, if you check out my published walks in the Lakes District you will get a flavour of what is available. (Plenty more to add when I have time; if you decide on a base let me know where you are and I can can give some suggestions)

Cheers
Mark
